CityVet, a Dallas-based network of 44 -owned practices offering unique programs serving people through pet care with kindness for the last 25 years, has announced the grand opening of its first clinic in Arizona. Located in Chandler, Arizona, the clinic is scheduled to open its doors on Monday, September 16.

The new clinic offers a wide range of services, including preventative treatments, diagnostics, surgical procedures, dental treatments and advanced surgical options. In addition, a groomer will be coming soon to provide full grooming services.

CityVet Chandler will be led by local DVM Dr. Desirée Jordan, a devoted mother with over 18 years of experience in veterinary medicine. Dr. Jordan’s journey began during her undergraduate years as a receptionist at a veterinary clinic, where a dedicated veterinarian inspired her to pursue a career in the field. After earning her bachelor’s degree in biology and gaining invaluable experience as a , she earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Michigan State University. During vet school, she further enriched her expertise by taking a year off to conduct pharmacology research funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Upon graduation, Dr. Jordan moved to Phoenix, Arizona to complete a one-year internship before transitioning into private practice. After several years working simultaneously as an associate in general practice and doing relief in emergency and critical care here in Arizona, Dr. Jordan became the attending veterinarian and clinical director in the Veterinary Technician Program at Pima , where she worked for over six years.

Two years ago, Dr. Jordan rekindled her passion for working with pet owners to care for their beloved pets, and at the same time, embraced the opportunity of ownership with CityVet. She recognized that this role would allow her to continue her passion for animal care while also achieving financial stability and greater autonomy in her professional journey.

Drawn to CityVet’s supportive model, she found the perfect balance between her career and responsibilities as a mother while building a successful practice that prioritizes her patients’ health.

“What I hear most from my clients is appreciation for the time I take to thoroughly explain their pet’s health. For me, it’s important that every pet owner leaves with a clear understanding of what’s going on with their pet and how we can work together to keep them healthy,” said Dr. Jordan. “I want every visit to be a positive experience where they feel more informed and empowered to advocate for their pets. I also expect that same culture of thoroughness and clear communication to carry through every aspect of our clinic.”

On expanding CityVet’s footprint to Arizona, CityVet president and CEO David Boguslawski said the following: “We are incredibly excited to expand CityVet’s reach with our first clinic in Arizona, but what excites us even more is the opportunity to partner with Dr. Jordan. Her dedication to veterinary care, focus on client education, and natural leadership make her an ideal choice to lead our first clinic in Arizona. With Dr. Jordan guiding the team, we’re confident that pet owners in Chandler will experience the same outstanding services and personal attention that CityVet is known for.”
