Steven (“Lee”) Higgins has taken on the role of southeast regional sales manager at BrightPet Nutrition Group. In his new role at BrightPet Nutrition Group, Higgins will be responsible for the continued growth and expansion of the Blackwood and Adirondack brand pet foods in the southeast region of the U.S.; both are premium product lines manufactured by the company in Lisbon, Ohio, and distributed to customers globally.
“Lee comes to BrightPet Nutrition Group with vast knowledge of the pet food industry, and a great deal of experience,” said Joe Livermore, director of sales and marketing. “He has a proven track record in selling, and he has key relationships that will be instrumental in expanding distribution of our super premium brands in the southeast.”
Since 2009, Higgins served as national sales manager at Hi Tek Rations Pet Foods in Dublin, Georgia, where he was charged with driving sales results—and successful, closing business with new accounts including Amazon, Tractor Supply and Whole Foods. At Hi Tek, he was the recipient of the organization’s Million Dollar Club Award and Sales Person of the Year.
Before joining Hi Tek Rations Pet Foods, Higgins worked at G&K Services in Macon, Georgia, from 2004 to 2009. In a dual role—district sales manager and branch manager—Higgins served in a sales and operations capacity, cold calling and scheduling new customers, as well as monitoring the P&L.
At G&K Services, Higgins was recognized year-over-year as one of 20 top selling representatives.
From 1992 to 2002, Higgins served as division manager at Schuster Enterprises in Columbus, Georgia, managing six to nine locations and a staff of more than 250.

Higgins holds a bachelor of arts in sales and marketing from Macon State, having graduate din 1987.
