Barkleigh Unleashes World Dog Expo

Barkleigh, the team behind World Dog Expo, says that this year’s event, which took place on June 9 and 10 at the Meadowlands Expo Center in Secaucus, New Jersey, exceeded expectations. With over 13,000 tickets sold, 149 vendor booths—most of which highlighted dog products—18 animal rescues with adoptable dogs, six different sports for attending dogs to participate in and educational seminars.

World Dog Expo has some of the dog industry’s most recognizable celebrities such as Sara Carson and Hero from “America’s Got Talent,” Shorty Rossi from Animal Planet’s “Pitt Boss,” Deirdre Franklin from Pinups for Pitbulls, and the Dogfather Joey Villani.

The show also featured the second annual Rescue Honor Awards that took place during the expo. Eight rescues, volunteers and dogs were awarded for their hard work and dedication in saving the lives of animals. The evening was filled with laughter, heartfelt emotion and an overwhelming sense of accomplishment from everyone who attended.

The show also included a lure course, pet talent auditions, Felix the Pug from Disney’s “K9 Undercover,” OPAWZ Tattoo and Jewel Station for Your Pooch, Doggy Gyms, the Tito’s BarkEasy, Hogs 4 Paws motorcycle Rescue Ride and more.

Plans are already being made for expanding next year’s World Dog Expo, scheduled for June 1 and 2, 2019 at the Meadowlands Expo Center.
