While thousands of residents have been displaced by the devastating Carr and other fires burning in the California region, hundreds of pets have also been evacuated with only a handful of shelters and temporary shelters, including VCA, that are able to accept them. These shelters are in need of supplies, food and even dog crates in addition to monetary donations to help with the influx of pets who are scared and without homes at the moment.

In an effort to help, Wag! partnered with GreaterGood.org to band together to help local pets in need.

All of the donations received on GreaterGood.org are put directly toward animal relief in the area. Since last week, Wag! has contributed more than $23,000 to the GreaterGood.org, which has helped provide three truckloads of pet food to assist the temporary shelters dealing with this massive increase in displaced animals in the region.

On Tuesday, the Clearlake Animal Shelter, which is 109 miles north of San Francisco, received one truck. Wag! is also funding 26 pallets of dog crates for disaster-relief organizations and a generator for North Valley Animal Disaster Group which is on the ground near Redding.
