With rising concerns about the mosquito-borne Zika virus, Spectrum Brands, Inc.’s Pet, Home & Garden Division has announced a donation of 55,000 units of mosquito repellent for people in the affected areas of the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.

The donation is being coordinated by the Consumer Specialty Products Association (CSPA).

“Spectrum Brands is committed to helping families living in the affected regions minimize their exposure to mosquitoes that may carry the Zika virus,” said Eric Kenney, division vice president of Home & Garden marketing at Spectrum Brands, Inc. “In addition to our product donation, we’ve also significantly increased our repellent production plan to ensure that our retailer partners in the U.S. will avoid any out-of-stocks.”
