CBD 5 Best

If you work in the pet space, chances are you’ve heard of CBD oil for dogs and cats. CBD (short for cannabidiol) is a chemical compound found in the cannabis plant. More importantly, it offers major health benefits to you and your pet. CBD promotes relaxation, supports healthy skin and can relieve your pet from stiffness associated with everyday activity, as well as promote overall wellness.

With that said, it is important to remember that not all CBD is created equal. When searching for a CBD product, there are some important things to keep in mind. In order to offer your customers the best product, your CBD should be:

Hemp-derived

CBD can be found in both the hemp plant and the marijuana plant. However, CBD for pets should only come from the hemp plant. The hemp plant contains trace amounts of THC (the psychoactive component of cannabis), where marijuana contains a high percentage.

Organic

CBD is a fantastic holistic option for you and your pet. However, if the hemp plant that your CBD came from was exposed to herbicides and pesticides, it can do more harm than good. When searching for a CBD product, always choose organic to ensure the quality of the product.

CO2 extracted

There are various ways to extract CBD from the hemp plant. However, the safest and cleanest is CO2 extraction. Additionally, because CO2 extraction operates at a lower temperature, it better preserves the end product. Not to mention, this process is preferable as CO2 is naturally occurring and better for the environment.

Full spectrum

There are a few different types of CBD oil, the most popular being CBD isolate and full spectrum hemp oil, which contains naturally occurring CBD. On one hand, CBD isolate is pure CBD—meaning it contains no other cannabinoids other than CBD. On the other hand, full spectrum contains all of the other benefit rich cannabinoids in addition to CBD.

Now, while CBD isolate may seem like the preferable option, studies show that full spectrum is more effective. It turns out, when CBD is consumed along with all of the other benefit rich cannabinoids, they work in conjunction to support your health.

Lab-tested

When choosing a CBD product, opt for one that has been lab-tested by a third party.

Unfortunately, there are those companies that claim to offer CBD but are really selling snake oil with zero medical benefits. Additionally, you don’t know what kind of herbicides, pesticides and heavy metals your CBD product contains. That is why it is imperative to always ask for a Certificate of Analysis (COA) to verify the contents of the product.

Whether you are looking to promote relaxation, combat seasonal allergies, support healthy bones and joints, or promote overall wellness, CBD is a fabulous addition to anyone’s health regimen. With that said, it is very important to do your research and opt for a company with a solid reputation in order to provide your customers with the best results.
