Raised Right Offsets Carbon Emissions, Partners With Nonprofit

Press release: Raised Right Pets

Raised Right has partnered with Carbonfund.org to offset the carbon emissions coming from its home delivery service shipments through reforestation and forest preservation.

Carbonfund.org is a nonprofit organization that supports third-party validated and verified renewable energy, energy efficiency and forestry-based projects globally that reduce carbon dioxide emissions. Reforestation and forest preservation carbon offset projects sequester CO2 emissions from the atmosphere in trees and soil and have many co-benefits for communities and local wildlife. Planting trees absorbs carbon dioxide, improves air and soil quality, preserves biodiversity, improves habitats and creates jobs.

Raised Right is a family owned human-grade pet food company that works with veterinarian, Dr. Karen Becker to make “home cooked style” whole food recipes for dogs and cats that are stored frozen and served fresh.

“We’re very excited to partner with Carbonfund.org as they are doing amazing things for our planet. We wanted to expand our sustainability efforts by offsetting our carbon emissions through reforestation and forest preservation. As a ranching family, we are very conscious of the benefits of biodiversity in our environment and it means a lot to us to be able to positively impact the environment on a larger scale through Carbonfund.org.” says Braeden Ruud, Raised Right’s co-founder and CEO.

The Ruud’s family’s roots in farming and ranching date back for centuries. Braeden’s Mother, Mary Ann, started home cooking for their family’s pets in 2007 after the massive outbreak of pet food contamination that resulted in the death of thousands of pets. This inspired the Ruud family to create a company that pet parents can trust through placing a strong emphasis on safety and transparency.
