Primal Pet Foods Inc. to Open Manufacturing Facility in California

Primal Pet Foods Inc. will move its manufacturing facility from San Francisco to Fairfield, California.

Primal, a manufacturer of fully prepared, human-grade raw foods and treats for dogs and cats, has signed a lease for 50,000 square feet with landlord Sierra Pacific Properties. The new location will be twice as large as its previous building.

“We looked throughout the immediate San Francisco Bay Area and chose Fairfield because of the availability of a value-priced new building,” said Matt Koss, founder and president of Primal Pet Foods. “In addition, the city’s strategic location on Interstate 80 is ideal for distributing our products. Because we purchase meat, poultry and produce items from the Central Valley, its proximity to that area of the state is beneficial.”

Primal Pet Food’s expansion is anticipated to provide new job opportunities in the area. Operations are expected to start in late summer 2016.
