For its next phase of growth, ingredient-forward Plato Pet Treats has brought Jim Sharp on board as executive vice president of Sales.

“I’m extremely excited to join the Plato Team to lead the Sales effort in providing an outstanding brand, extremely high quality products, industry-leading service, and collaborative relationships to our distributor and retail partners,” Sharp said.

As a pioneer in the pet treat space, Plato says it is elated to add his 20 years of pet industry experience to the team.

“Jim brings a principled and strategic approach to service, which is compounded with high energy, enthusiasm and experience. I cannot wait to see what we can accomplish with Jim on the Plato team.” Plato CEO Aaron Merrell said.

Sharp offers an impressive track record of sales team leadership, industry insight and market share gains. His previous roles have included head of sales and trade marketing. Having his finger on the pulse at the core of the industry, Sharp is aware of the needs and the future of pet.

“The pet industry, and the treat space in particular, continue to be an exciting, high growth opportunity for all of us,” Sharp said. “I’m committed to continuing Plato’s strong track record of delivering unique, premium innovation; business building distributor and retailer programs; and consumer value and satisfaction to enable stronger pet-pet parent relationships. I look forward to working energetically with all of you soon!”

This is an accelerated time for Plato Pet Treats, focusing on its brand promise: “The most important ingredient is the ingredients.”

From new product innovation, to strengthening reach with retailers, to the efforts of education for treat nutrition, Sharp will be the driving force.
