Petmate and Operation Kindness, the largest no-kill animal shelter in North Texas, partnered for a special event, Cinco de Mutto,  to kick off Cinco de Mayo and celebrate National Pet Month.

The event raised more than $1,000, and Petmate additionally donated more than $5,000 worth of products including collars, leashes, toys and waste management products to the shelter.

Held at Mutt’s Cantina in Dallas, Cinco de Mutto was an afternoon of fun for the whole family that promoted pet adoption and the love of pets.

Petmate donated Puppy Starter Kits to all who rescued a dog in need of a ‘fur-ever’ home, and guests were treated to professional pet photos, discount micro-chipping, free spins on the Petmate prize wheel, drink specials including the Paw-garita, plus fun activities for dogs including a Chuckit! fetch contest.

With the help of her rescue dog Bruce, special guest Miss Texas International 2014 Rachael Lynee Burns tossed out the first Chuckit! ball to officially kick off the fiesta, which was attended by more than 250 guests.
