Press release: Petland, Inc.

Petland Heath has been matching the right pet with the right customer since 1986. They are now also helping support families who find the right pet at the Licking County Dog Shelter and Adoption Center.

Any individual or family who adopts a dog from the Licking County Dog Shelter will receive a $25 Petland gift card and free 4 lb. bag of dog food.

Petland General Manager Hope Mills has been instrumental in providing assistance for canines in the Heath area. Petland Heath is currently supporting and/or feeding more than 25 area K-9 units, including teams from Licking County Sheriff, Newark Police, Pataskala Police, Heath Police, Somerset Police and Granville. Petland also helps support the Ohio Department of Natural Resources’ K-9 units as well as ORDA’s Search and Rescue units.

“The Licking County Dog Shelter and Adoption Center appreciates Petland’s donation of gift cards and dog food for our dog adopters at the Heath store. Their support through general manager Hope Mills, of monthly adoption events for our shelter dogs at the store has resulted in adoptions and exposure for the shelter, ” said Licking County’s Chief Dog Warden David Shellhouse.

Customers receive their $25 gift card upon completion of their adoption paperwork at the dog shelter and receive their dog food when redeeming their gift card at the store.

The gift card program has been incorporated into Petland Charities, a 501c3, whose mission is to help support shelters and service animals. The program was piloted at the Ross County Humane Society in Chillicothe, Ohio. For more information, please contact Elizabeth Kunzelman at (740) 775-2464.
