Pet Evolution Brings on Franchise Developer for Midwest Expansion

Pet Evolution, a pet supply store dedicated to providing your furry friends with high-quality food and services– has officially brought on Scot Ziessman to help achieve the brand’s goal of opening over 50 locations in the Midwest. Ziessman’s first undertaking for Pet Evolution will be to finalize opening his first franchise location in St. Cloud, Minnesota, in November 2021. Additionally, he and his team will help open three more Minnesota locations, as well as bringing expansion of Pet Evolution to Wisconsin and Illinois.

With two locations currently open in Minnesota, Pet Evolution is accelerating their franchise growth by expanding in the Midwest. Ziessman has invested into the brand’s regional development in Wisconsin and Illinois and is on a mission to find franchisees who will be the perfect fit to run the new locations in both states. Ziessman’s extensive background in franchising stems from his ownership with brands like Massage Envy and Fantastic Sam’s, making him the perfect candidate to lead this project. Ziessman aims to secure single and multi-unit owners and accomplish this goal with the help of a proven operations team that includes experienced members like Dawn Agort-Kurth, who previously helped open over 90 Fantastic Sam’s locations in Minnesota. Ziessman and his team will ensure each franchisee smoothly transitions into becoming part of the Pet Evolution family.

“Pet Evolution is a brand that I believe will greatly benefit from franchising because they provide a standard of pet care that has become more popular as people realize how important their pets’ health is,” said Ziessman. “There is a clear need for Pet Evolution in more communities and I could not be happier to bring it to market.”

With over 17 years in the industry, Ziessman’s extensive background in franchising and business ownership will be extremely useful to this project. Prior to joining Pet Evolution, Ziessman started out as a multi-unit franchise owner of Fantastic Sam’s, one of the world’s largest full-service hair care franchises. Eight years later, he came across a franchise opportunity with one of the largest franchises in the industry, Massage Envy, and has opened four locations. After experiencing major success with both franchises, Ziessman invested in Pet Evolution in 2021 and is confident that he will advance the brand’s growth in the Midwest.

“Pet Evolution’s passion for providing the highest quality pet care inspired me to join the team,” said Ziessman. “I love working with wellness brands who care deeply about fulfilling their communities’ needs, so I’m eager to continue doing that with Pet Evolution and help them change as many pets’ lives as possible.”

Pet Evolution was founded in 2012 by friends Rian Thiele and Mike Osborn, both having watched their childhood dogs suffer through the itchy paws, chronic ear infections, and multiple vet trips of undiagnosed food allergies.

Pet Evolution began franchising after Peter Carlson, President of Pet Evolution Franchising, LLC, fell in love with the brand, remains a loyal customer to this day. Before joining the team, Peter turned to Pet Evolution as his Standard Poodle, Leo, struggled with digestive and allergy issues, following countless tries with other products with no results. After switching to products endorsed by their team, Peter immediately saw positive results to help his dog live a happier life.
