The Professional Animal Care Certification Council (PACCC) today announced that the first independent certification exam for pet care professionals to become a certified professional animal care manager (CPACM) will be offered in June during a two-week period, June 10 -24, but the deadline to register for the CPACM exam is May 15. The CPACM is the person in charge of the daily operation of a professional pet care business. The CPACM exam, as distinguished from the Certified Professional Care Provider (CPACP) exam, is more experience-based and management-focused.

“PACCC is proud to advance our pet safety mission by introducing our next level of independent certification with the CPACM exam,” PACCC co-founder Susan Briggs said. “Even if you’re sitting behind a desk and dealing with human resources more than resource guarding, pet care knowledge and safety should be a certifiable requirement at every level of pet care services such as pet lodging, dog daycare, pet sitting and dog walking.”

As with all PACCC exams, the CPACM content was created by a team of industry expert volunteers under the guidance of the Professional Testing Corporation (PTC), the third-party testing organization that will be administering the exam and certifying the results. The CPACP exam will also be offered in June, the third time the provider exam has been offered.

The following provides a brief overview for each exam. For more details, requirement specifics, and to register for either exam, visit www.paccert.org/exam-info.
