Agrolimen acquired the remaining interest in Nature’s Variety, makers of Instinct Pet Food.

The company purchased shares held by L Catterton and other shareholders.

L Catterton made its first investment in Nature’s Variety in 2008. In July 2014, Agrolimen entered into a joint venture with L Catterton and other Nature’s Variety shareholders.

“Our partnership with the team at L Catterton has been instrumental in positioning Nature’s Variety as the leading provider of raw and raw-inspired pet food,” said Reed Howlett, CEO of Nature’s Variety. “Since L Catterton’s investment, Nature’s Variety has quadrupled in size.”

Howlett also stated that Nature’s Variety will still operate as a stand-alone company headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, and that the new ownership structure would not change its philosophy or day-to-day operations.

“Our company purpose has been and will continue to be empowering people to transform the lives of pets,” Howlett said. “This purpose and focus has driven our growth and leadership in raw pet food – and it will continue to be the foundation of everything we do at Nature’s Variety. “
