The Marine Aquarium Societies of North America (MASNA) is presenting the 3rd Annual MASNA Scientific Poster Session, which will be held at the Marine Aquarium Conference of North America (MACNA) in Las Vegas, Nevada, September 7-9, 2018.

The MASNA Scientific Poster Session allows for all types of individuals in the hobby– advanced aquarium hobbyists, undergraduates, graduate students and scientists–to submit scientific posters on their current or past marine aquarium related research projects.

The MASNA Scientific Poster Session gives the 3,000+ MACNA 2018 attendees the opportunity to get up close and personal with scientists and fellow hobbyists and discuss marine aquarium related science.

Posters will be judged by a committee of peers consisting of hobbyists and scientists. Prizes are awarded for posters in three categories: general hobbyists, undergraduate students and graduate students.

Poster abstract submissions will be open May 14–July 10, 2018.

MASNA is a non-profit organization composed of marine aquarium societies and individual hobbyists from North America and abroad, totaling several thousand individuals.

MASNA’s goals are to:

  • Educate our members with online and published material, the MACNA conference, and other sanctioned events.
  • Assist in forming and promoting the growth of clubs within the hobby while ensuring a sustainable future for the marine environment.
  • Support the efforts to eliminate abuses in collecting and transporting marine organisms through education, assistance and encouragement.
  • Encourage the ethical growth of the marine aquarium hobby and support captive breeding/propagation efforts.

The 3rd Annual MASNA Scientific Poster Session is made possible by sponsors WAMAS (MACNA 2015 host organization), CORAL (MACNA 2014 host organization) and EcoTech Marine.
