Press release: petNmind

petNmind Natural Nutrition, Supplies & Hygiene, a one-stop-shop for holistic pet nutrition and care, is thrilled to announce that it is opening its first franchise this summer in downtown Fort Lauderdale.

Since 2016, the holistic, natural pet food store has focused on quality and nutrition as a healthier alternative to the items found on the shelves of big-box retailers, with an emphasis on finding nutritional solutions to a range of issues often created by dietary deficiencies.

Created by Adrian Archie in Parkland, Florida –  which is petNmind’s company-owned flagship location – the store’s open concept allows customers to shop with their pet and provides easy access to the self-serve dog washing facility. Archie is the first African American to launch and sell franchises in the pet industry, which is currently valued at over $21 billion.

Holistic dog and cat foods, supplements, pet supplies, self-serve dog wash, subscription hygiene services and delivery are some of the products and services that franchisee Brandon Felton plans to bring to the new location.

“By bringing petNmind to Downtown Fort Lauderdale, we are looking to educate pet owners and to offer only quality products,” said Felton. “Everything in our store is holistic and high quality, and we love people, so customer service will always come first for us.”

petNmind prides itself on being a “small box” store; a full-line business in a small, successful package – no more than 2,000 square feet. Unlike a box store, where someone may point you in the right direction, petNmind spends time with customers. The staff ask a series of questions to gather information about the pet. With this information, they empower the customer to make the best decisions for their pet from a nutritional perspective.

For a nominal charge, customers may take advantage of employee washing, de-shedding, ear cleaning and nail clipping services, which is referred as a “hygiene service.” In addition, a monthly non-anesthetic dental clinic completes the hygienic offerings.

A recurring subscription program for dog wash customers allows unlimited use of the facility for a monthly fee. In addition, an online store, facilitated through eTailPet, a full-service e-commerce company that offers solutions for independent pet retailers, provides an e-commerce platform, which has proven helpful during the pandemic.

Other locations opening this year include both Miami and Atlanta, and petNMind will continue to offer franchise opportunities to qualified candidates throughout the country. Qualified applicants who are awarded the opportunity to own and operate a franchise will be provided with an exceptional business model, extensive training, and consistent, ongoing support from senior management.

“Franchisees don’t have a huge payroll or staffing issues,” said Archie. “As an involved owner who can be semi-absentee, all you need is a quality manager and two or three part-time employees passionate about pets.”
