Press release: Gunni’s Pet

The natural, Icelandic fish dog and cat treat line, Gunni’s (pronounced goo-nees) Taste of Iceland continued its rapid expansion throughout the United States with the recent announcement of a distribution agreement with powerhouse Southeast Pet. This new partnership secures distribution of Itreats and chews throughout Alabama, Georgia, North and South Carolina, Tennessee and Florida.

Gunni’s Taste of Iceland is an all-natural, grain-free family of products for both cats and dogs using fresh fish caught in the pristine waters of Iceland. They only use ingredients that are responsibly and sustainably sourced. Viewing each “member of the pack” as part of their extended family and not simply a customer, they are dedicated to bringing you the best products on the market. Additionally, by sourcing products from Iceland, they uphold a zero-carbon emissions production process.

“This has been an exciting new year for us! We are thrilled to be partnering with Southeast Pet as they align perfectly with our core principals as well as deepens our distribution strategy of supporting independent pet specialty.  We look forward to the tremendous success this partnership will bring,” said Lisa Momberger, partner of Gunni’s Pet.

Southeast Pet is just as thrilled to be starting a new partnership with Gunni’s Pet.

“We’re very excited to be partnering with Gunni’s,” said Pete Cooper, VP of sales and marketing at Southeast Pet. “They share our commitment to supporting independent pet specialty retailers with unique, all natural, and sustainably sourced products.”

Based in Metro Atlanta and 100 percent employee owned, Southeast Pet’s 133,000-square-foot distribution center supplies retailers in six southeastern states with the new products and fresh ideas retailers need to stay competitive in this fast-changing industry.  A second distribution center, opened in 2013 in Lakeland, FL, services the Florida market.
