Starting from Carmel, California, in February 2017, GoPetFriendly.com will embark on 10-month tour of the United States, celebrating the bonds that grow between humans and pets as they travel together.

More than just a fun adventure, this program is designed to appeal to pet owners nationwide and offers sponsors the opportunity to reach consumers in a unique and authentic way. While visiting the most pet friendly attraction in each of the lower 48 states, GoPetFriendly.com will be engaging pet lovers online through a robust digital campaign and in-person at 17 live events along the route.

In 2016, 37 percent of pet owners traveled with their dogs and cats — up from 32 percent in 2014, and nearly doubling over the past 10 years, according to the American Pet Products Association.

As leading experts in pet travel, GoPetFriendly.com believes this trend will continue well into the future and is launching its 2017 nationwide tour to inspire people to make memories with their pets by traveling together.

“From the dog friendly beach in Carmel, California, to hiking the rocky shoreline of Maine’s Acadia National Park, there are so many incredible, pet friendly places to explore across the country,” said Amy Burkert, founder of GoPetFriendly.com. “We want people to see what’s possible and learn how to do travel with their pets safely.”

With more than 100,000 miles in their rear-view mirror, the Burkerts — whom have lived in their Winnebago motorhome for more than six years — are experienced pet travel experts. They’ve grown GoPetFriendly.com into a leading pet travel resource that has information on more than 65,000 pet friendly locations, as well as an informative and entertaining blog about their adventures.

“Our mission is to make traveling with pets easier and more enjoyable,” Burkert said. “This tour will encourage more people to include their pets in their travel plans – whether they are headed around the block or across the country.”

Tour sponsorships range between $850 and $15,000 for the 10-month program.
