The International Boarding & Pet Services Association (IBPSA) will host a free webinar on Thursday, June 22, at 1 p.m. CST, to address canine influenza, or dog flu. According to IBPSA, the dog flu has now been reported in over 30 states after a big outbreak flared up in Chicago, Illinois. The southern part of the United States, including Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee, is currently experiencing the brunt of the highly contagious disease, IBPSA says. All pet care professionals are invited to attend, but registration is required to access the online event. Guest presenter Dr. Melissa Bourgeois, DVM, PhD, DACVM (virology, immunology), will break down the dog flu facts and best practices for pet care providers

“As reports of dog flu continue to rise, we know that pet boarding facilities, doggy daycares, pet sitters, pet salons, dog walkers are increasingly concerned about what they need know to help ensure the health and well-being of the pets in their care,” said Carmen Rustenbeck, IBPSA’s CEO and founder. “With this webinar, we aim to cut through any confusion and present the facts pet care providers need to know.”

To register for the webinar, pet care professionals should visit www.ibpsa.com/dogflu.
