Crumps’ Naturals Launches Dehydrated Dog Food

February 5, 2018

Crumps’ Naturals founded in Caledon, Ontario, in 2006, by Joe and Margot Crump, has always focused on developing quality dog treats made from minimal ingredients sourced in North America. Having earned the recognition as a trusted, innovative brand in the marketplace, Crumps’ Naturals has recently launched its very own dehydrated dog food, Gutsy.

Gutsy was developed to fill a void in the marketplace and meet the demands of consumers who are increasingly looking for attributes such as hormone and antibiotic free meats and fish, organic fruits and vegetables, novel ingredients, low glycemic carbohydrate sources and alternatives to traditional kibble. According to GfK research, market trends indicate strong growth in the “raw alternative” category which includes raw, freeze dried and dehydrated options. Gutsy will be sold alongside other premium pet foods in the raw alternative category due to the fact that it is a minimally processed, dehydrated alternative to kibble with no added colors, flavors or artificial preservatives.

The inclusion of novel ingredients, specific to “gut” health, are one of the distinguishing features of Gutsy. Nutritional issues are one of the three main challenges facing the future of animal health, along with genetics and oncology. Superior nutrition is expected to play a protective and preventative role in helping pets face lifestyle challenges similar to those facing their owners. As evidence grows around the link between a healthy digestive environment and overall health and wellness, Crumps’ set out to develop a food that would maximize digestive ability allowing for better absorption of vitamins and minerals. Gutsy was developed as the very best dehydrated food made from a blend of superfoods and novel ingredients specifically designed for preventative and protective “gut” health.

Crumps’ Naturals Gutsy food can be found in pet specialty retailers across Canada and the U.S.
