CountryMax Stores, a Western New York family-owned business with 18 retail locations, recently announced the addition of two new designers plus an events coordinator, further bolstering its in-house marketing capabilities.
Steve Current joins the team as senior designer. With more than 15 years of experience, Current most recently was the in-house designer for New York Kitchen. Steve now lives in Mendon, but spent several years designing retail marketing materials for NEXCOM, the centralized store serving the U.S. Navy in Virginia, including managing photo shoots, catalogs and circulars. At CountryMax, Steve will help establish brand guidelines, create content marketing pieces, produce in-store signage, email marketing and more.
Megan Pohl joins CountryMax as a designer. A Fairport native and graduate of Mercyhurst University, Megan was formerly marketing communications coordinator for Monroe Veterinary Associates. She will develop content for CountryMax circulars, in-store signage and the retailer’s Facebook and Instagram channels.
Alexis Koepke is the new CountryMax events coordinator. Many of the retailer’s 18 stores feature large, multi-purpose event spaces. Koepke – a Webster native and lifelong equestrian — will coordinate birthday parties for children and pets, school and community group visits, pet therapy and obedience classes, canning and cooking demonstrations, corporate team building and holiday photo events, even pet weddings.
The in-house marketing team continues to focus on increasing awareness of the CountryMax name as its regional footprint grows. Additional priorities include creating branded educational content for customers and employees, expanding social media engagement and honing the company’s email campaigns.
