Press release: Ren’s Pets

Ren’s Pets has opened a new store in The Junction neighborhood of Toronto, Ontario. It is the second urban concept smaller format store for Ren’s, following the opening of Liberty Village, Toronto in September of 2021. The Junction store marks the 46th Ren’s Pets location for the Canadian specialty pet retailer, amidst strong expansion plans for Toronto.

“We’re really excited to open this second urban concept Ren’s store in The Junction in Toronto,” said Scott Arsenault, CEO at Ren’s Pets. “We started this project last summer and had some delays. But we opened the doors yesterday and were thrilled to see customers shop the store immediately. There is an extremely large population of pet parents in the area, and we can’t wait to show them that Ren’s is here for your Pet’s Best Life with only the highest quality premium pet food, treats, and toys.”

The Junction store is located at 2995 Dundas Street West and has a 4,000 square-foot footprint. It features Ren’s best selection of dog and cat products including aisles of high-quality pet food, displays of treats and toys, plus a special grooming section. There is also over 30 feet of freezers for raw and frozen pet food located in a special room at the back of the store, one of the largest selections in Toronto. The store has an expanded click and collect pick up spot, plus a larger area to facilitate same day delivery for customers powered by DoorDash. The overall look of the store has a fresh boutique style look, using updated signage, barnboard and brick accents and new styles of fixtures.

“I visited our new Ren’s store in The Junction last week and couldn’t believe how bright and welcoming the store was,” shared Larissa Wasyliw, vice president of e-commerce and marketing at Ren’s Pets. “There is a scale at the front of the store, for customers to weigh their pets. The aisles were spacious and stocked full of premium pet food and supplies. The freezer room for raw and frozen food is unique and will be a true destination for pet parents who feed their pets this type of food. Our store manager Tyler and his amazing team can’t wait to meet all of the pets in this vibrant, growing Toronto neighborhood!”

Ren’s Pets has 12 stores scheduled to open in 2023, including a third urban location in The Beaches, Toronto this fall on Queen Street East.
