VCA, Inc. has acquired Camp Bow Wow, a franchisor of dog day, and overnight, care centers.

Heidi Ganahl, founder of Camp Bow Wow will continue as its chief executive officer.

“The sale of Camp Bow Wow to VCA is a testament to the hard work of everyone at the company,” said Ganahl.  “Staying on as CEO will enable me to continue to build on the success of Camp Bow Wow and to be a part of a dedicated top-tier animal health care company.  VCA shares our core philosophy of Happy Healthy Pets, Happy Healthy People and we look forward to further enhancing the Camp Bow Wow experience.”

Camp Bow Wow was founded over 13 years ago. Since its inception, the company has grown to over 152 franchise locations nationwide and is a $76 million brand.

“The level of success achieved by Heidi, the Camp Bow Wow team and all of the Camp Bow Wow franchisees in a relatively short period of time is truly amazing,” said Bob Antin, chairman, president and chief executive officer of VCA. “We are excited by the opportunity to combine the individual and shared strengths of our two companies to bring a new level of resources to VCA’s pet patients, and a new level of health resources to Camp Bow Wow patrons.”

Arlington Capital Advisors served as exclusive financial advisor to Camp Bow Wow on the transaction.
