The Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT) completed its twentieth annual conference and trade show.

The conference was held in Hartford, Conn. on October 15-18. Almost 900 training professionals and pet care specialists attended and participated in educational opportunities for a combined total of more than 75 assorted seminars, panel discussions, workshops and day-long certification classes.

APDT Scholarships and Dogwise Shelter Scholarships were also awarded. Don Hanson was honored with the APDT Member of the Year Award and Karen Pryor was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award.

“The annual conference is a great opportunity for trainers from around the world to discuss the latest in canine information,” said Mychelle Blake, president and CEO of APDT. “We’re proud to play an instrumental role in helping our members grow their businesses, hone their professional skills and help our fellow community members and their canines.”
