Andis Company Renews Gold-level Plus Sponsorship of Animal Behavior College’s Pet Groomer Program

January 24, 2018

Animal Behavior College (ABC), a vocational college that trains professional dog trainers, cat trainers, veterinary assistants and pet groomers nationwide and in the 10 provinces of Canada, announced that Andis Company, a leading manufacturer of grooming tools for small and large animals, is sponsoring the school’s Certified Grooming Instruction Program (GIP) at the highest sponsorship level, Gold-level Plus. This is the second year in a row Andis has supported ABC’s pet grooming program at this distinctive sponsorship level.

As a Gold-level Plus sponsor, Andis is providing high-quality professional grooming tools, educational brochures and fliers, and product information, as well as social media contest prizes and an internet-based scholarship competition that will run during the second quarter of this year.

“For several years, we’ve enjoyed a successful collaboration with Andis and look forward to another amazing and exceptional year,” said Steven Appelbaum, president and CEO of Animal Behavior College. “Andis values pet groomer education and understands the importance of providing grooming students with outstanding professional tools and information. We’re also excited about coordinating social media activities and sharing the achievements of our grooming program students and graduates with Andis.”

ABC and Andis will support each other through their social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and YouTube.

“Andis has always supported groomers by making top-of-the-line grooming tools while assisting new and seasoned groomers with grooming tips and advice,” said Karen Formico, vice president of marketing for Andis. “We are excited to partner with Animal Behavior College and look forward to introducing new students to the Andis family.”

For almost a century, Andis has designed and manufactured handheld tools to trim, cut, curl, straighten and dry hair. The family-owned Sturtevant, Wisconsin-based company’s products are used by animal groomers, barbers, shearers and other professionals. In addition to its best-known electric clippers and blade innovations, Andis offers an array of pet grooming products, which include brushes, combs, de-shedding tools, rakes and nail clippers.

As of December 31, 2017, ABC has graduated 2,639 students in GIP. Currently, there are 507 students enrolled in the program and ABC projects this number will increase this year. To date, the college has graduated and certified more than 25,000 students from all of its four core programs combined including GIP, the Dog Obedience Program, the Veterinary Assistant Program and the Cat Training Program. ABC offers specialized certificates of completion in five Short-Term programs on subjects including pet massage, pet nutrition, pet sitting, training shelter dogs, and selling and teaching private lessons.
