Press release: Andis Company

Andis Company, a leading manufacturer of handheld tools to trim, cut, curl, straighten and dry hair, has chosen the 2019 Winner of the Andis Groom Nation Scholarship, Allison Cohen. As winner of the Andis Groom Nation Scholarship, she will receive paid tuition to the Animal Behavior College’s Pet Grooming Program, which is a learning program accessible from anywhere in the United States.

“It is a huge honor to have been selected for the Andis Groom Nation Scholarship out of the many qualified candidates that applied. Pursuing a career working with dogs as a trainer has transformed my life, and I can’t wait to complete the Dog Grooming program with Animal Behavior College so that I can provide an even wider and more integrated range of services that will improve the lives of dogs and their families!” said Allison Cohen on winning the scholarship.

Andis Company began partnering with the Animal Behavior College (ABC) in 2017 to offer the Andis Groom Nation scholarship. Aspiring groomers can apply to receive the scholarship once per year with one winner chosen. Andis feels strongly about grooming education and partnering with the Animal Behavior College was the perfect opportunity to further empower aspiring groomers and allow them to build their skillset with the best education and tools offered. Additionally, this scholarship program is accessible from anywhere in the United States.

“I pledge to one day use my skills as both a trainer AND groomer to help homeless dogs become more adoptable, and to help my clients, human and canine, to enjoy the best relationships possible. I would like to deeply thank Andis Groom Nation for this life changing award, and Animal Behavior College for their very comprehensive programs. Dogs bring so much joy into our lives and teach us so much about love, and I am so grateful for the opportunity to pursue this fulfilling career,” said Cohen.
