American Pet Professionals, ReelPaws Productions and Whitegate PR are teaming up to host a full day Media Training Seminar event for pet professionals in the Chicago area. It will be held at ReelPaws Productions on March 2, 2017, from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and will feature known media experts Dana Humphrey of Whitegate PR, Nancy Hassel of American Pet Professionals and ReelPaws Productions Director of Photography Alex Mechlin.

These three seasoned media professionals are featured regularly on TV and in the news, perform live streaming videos and work with pet professionals daily, producing videos. The trio will teach pet professionals how to feel more comfortable speaking on camera, how to get their message across in a clear concise way, how to make their YouTube presence more polished and professional, how to speak to the press and many additional media training tips.

This in-depth and hands-on experience will help pet professionals who are planning on using video in the many platforms it is available: recorded to YouTube, commercials or training videos for their pet businesses and live videos on social media.

The media experts will help pet professionals get over their fear being on camera and learn to embrace it and be ready at a moments notice to speak with press.

“Working with pet professionals on a daily basis, I can see how many of them shy away from a camera when a news crew is around or are just not sure how to look and sound more professional while on camera,”  Hassel said. “We are thrilled to be bringing this event to Chicago and working with media experts Dana Humphrey of Whitegate PR and Director of Photography Alex Mechlin of ReelPaws Productions. Dana travels the country appearing on TV segments about pet products on a weekly basis and Alex is an award-winning filmmaker providing video service at pet industry events nationwide.

“I was a TV producer and production coordinator for over 10 years, and it took me time and practice to feel more comfortable about being on TV,” Hassel continued. “I want to help our pet professionals be the best they can be and go after their goals of more television exposure for their animal rescue or businesses.”

The schedule for this Media Training Day is as follows:
