American Pet Products Association (APPA) Executive Vice President and COO Andrew Darmohraj recently announced two staff promotions.

Edith Martignetti, who previously served as general manager, has been promoted to associate vice president, Human Resources. In her new role at APPA’s headquarters in Greenwich, Connecticut, she will be overseeing all aspects of Human Resources in addition to coordinating office functions and planning APPA Board events and meetings. Martignetti continues to play an important role in the organization of Global Pet Expo, as well. She is responsible for the overall supervision of registration and coordinates exhibitor listings in the Global Pet Expo Show Directory. Martignetti is a graduate of Berkeley College and is a member of the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE).

Alexandra Simonfay has been promoted from project coordinator to associate manager, Industry Relations. In her new role, Simonfay will plan and execute organization meetings, manage events for APPA’s industry-related initiatives and manage contacts and secure event space. She will also be responsible for overseeing the development of the Global Pet Expo Show Directory and assist with exhibitor registration and buyer qualification at the Show. Simonfay earned a bachelor’s degree at Manhattan College and a Master of Arts at Marist College. She recently earned a Certified in Exhibition Management™ (CEM) designation, and is a member of the IAEE and the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE). She was also recently named among IAEE’s “20 Under 30.”

“On behalf of the APPA Board and staff, I am so proud to announce the promotions of Edith and Alex. They are both true assets to the Association—and the pet industry—and we’re thrilled to see them excel in their new roles,” Darmohraj said. “Alex has shown tremendous growth in her time with APPA, and Edith has been a trusted, integral part of this team for many years. We look forward to their continued leadership and contributions.”
