Press release: American Nutrition

American Nutrition, a custom manufacturer that produces pet food and treats for branded companies and retailers, is pleased to announce its sponsorship and participation in The Arizona Pet Project’s 16th Annual HERO Awards.

The event will take place Saturday, March 9 at 6:00PM at the Montelucia Resort & Spa in Scottsdale, Arizona and host over 450 attendees. This annual dinner gala is the largest of the year for The Arizona Pet Project and honors five animals and one human hero that have made an impact in the community. American Nutrition has been a sponsor of this event since 2015 and will once again be sponsoring as a Tail Wagger Sponsor, which includes a $7,500 donation. Proceeds from the event will support the continued efforts of The Arizona Pet Project in providing free spay and neuter surgeries as well as shelter intervention programs in Maricopa County. Proceeds from supporters in the past few years alone have funded over 120,000 animals in need and have offered shelter intervention support to 1,000 pets and families.

“We are honored to be able to support the relentless efforts of The Arizona Pet Project over the past few years,” said Steve Mills, SVP of customer brands and co-manufacturing, American Nutrition. “Their primary goal of preventing pet homelessness by keeping families with pets together is one we stand behind 100 percent and we commend their efforts to recognize those heroes making an impact on the community and pet lives on a daily basis.“

In 2017, The Arizona Pet Project funded over 4,700 surgeries. In addition, the same year they launched the Shelter Intervention Team (S.I.T.) which is a program designed to prevent family pets from entering the shelter when families are facing unexpected hardships (ie: housing, medical bills, vet bills, etc). The organization provides resources to these families, allowing them to keep their pets in their care and their families whole.
