Actress Tippi Hedren will be guest hosting America’s most-listened-to pet talk, Animal Radio, Saturday, December 17.

Hedren’s most memorable role might be in Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Birds,” although she spent many years playing the role of legislator for exotic animals. She has been influential in creating laws prohibiting pet ownership of tigers and lions.

Hedren lives on the Shambala Preserve in Acton, California. The sanctuary is home to more than 40 big cats abandoned by people who originally purchased them as pets. She just released her autobiography, “Tippi,” in which she shares her trials and tribulations, including being mother to Melanie Griffith and grandma to Dakota Johnson.

“Tippi has been a regular guest on the show. She has such a love for the animals that is immediately evident the minute she speaks,” Animal Radio Host Hal Abrams said. “We’ll find out what it was like raising Melanie Griffith around lions and tigers.”

Hendren’s guest spot can be heard on this special national broadcast December 17 and 18 on 133 AM-FM stations across the nation. Visit http://AnimalRadio.com to find a local affiliate. This special program can also be heard on the Animal Radio App for iPhone and Android, iHeart Radio, Stitcher, TuneIn and iTunes.
