The NY Dog Film Festival and The NY Cat Film Festival are each a celebration of our love for dogs and cats, illustrated through film. Unlike internet video festivals, these programs are works of art, thoughtfully curated by pet wellness expert and champion, Tracie Hotchner. In 2015, the NY Dog Film Festival premiered to great acclaim and will return to Manhattan for the third annual festival on December 10. Each year, the festival premieres in New York City and then tours the country.

Now, on December 9, Hotchner will premiere the first annual NY Cat Film Festival, which will take our fascination with the feline kind to a new level of appreciation and celebration.

The First Annual NY Cat Film Festival: Exploring the mystique of the fascinating felines who share our lives.

The NY Cat Film Festival is an exploration through film of the fascinating felines who share our lives, creating a shared audience experience that inspires, educates and entertains. For far too long, felines have been the “invisible” part of the human-animal bond and it’s time to shine the spotlight on these magnificent creatures and the humans devoted to them.

The first annual NY Cat Film Festival will enhance our appreciation and understanding of how cats share our world, while benefiting local animal welfare groups and saluting those who work and volunteer on their behalf.

Location: The School for Visual Arts Theatre – 333 West 23rd Street (Between 8th & 9th Avenues)

3 p.m. – “Nobody Owns a Cat” (68 minutes)
