Sojos, maker of naturally nutritious raw pet food and gourmet treats, announced that Jen Loesch has joined the leadership team as general manager. With more than two decades of experience across both manufacturing and retail industries, Loesch has a proven track record of strategic leadership across functions including merchandising, marketing, product development, supply chain and operations.

Loesch’s previous experience spans Target, Best Buy, Honeywell, Eastman Kodak, Imation, 3M and Petco.

“We’re a close-knit family at Sojos, and Jen’s passion for pets and hands-on leadership skills make her a welcome addition to the company,” said Ward Johnson, co-founder of Sojos. “Jen is joining us as the raw pet food category is experiencing unprecedented growth. With more pet parents understanding the power of raw nutrition, key leaders like Jen are essential in helping us grow to meet increased demand.”

Sojos said this new hire comes at an exciting time. After joining the WellPet family of brands in 2016, Sojos says it experienced another year of double-digit growth, began preparations for a major expansion to new facilities, released Sojos Complete for Puppies, the brand’s first life stage food, and successfully launched Sojos’ first freeze-dried treats for cats.

As general manager, Loesch will not only have a hand in new product development, but will also help set the strategic direction for the entire business. She’ll oversee the marketing and sales teams, manage customer relationships and provide insights into the alternative feeding category to develop new business opportunities.

Loesch earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Davis before earning her master’s degree from the University of St. Thomas in Minneapolis. Loesch is relocating from her home in San Diego to the Twin Cities with her husband, Rob, daughter, Sydney, and their two Australian labradoodles, Simba and Layla.
