PetHub, Inc., is partnering with Project Blue Collar – Support the Underdog to co-sponsor the second annual “Kiss Me I’m Rescued” photo contest, which will raise funds for this year’s chosen beneficiary, National Mill Dog Rescue.

The contest, will run through Valentine’s Day, February 14and highlights the benefits of pet rescue by featuring photos of pet lovers kissing the rescued pets in their lives. Funds are raised via the sale of PetHub and Project Blue Collar merchandise on their respective websites. Pet owners, rescue advocates and animal rescues and shelters are urged to enter the contest.

People can both enter and vote on Facebook and Instagram by visiting the PetHub website.

“The bond we have with our pets is like no other,” says Tom Arnold, CEO of PetHub, Inc. “We wanted to create a photo contest that would highlight that bond, yet at the same time, assist worthy groups in their rescue efforts. We’re honored to be able to partner with an organization like Project Blue Collar in a bid to help raise funds for National Mill Dog Rescue which has pledged to put an end to the cruelty of the commercial dog breeding industry.”

While no purchase is necessary to enter, the first 1,000 entries receive a $1 donation towards National Mill Dog Rescue and a coupon for Project Blue Collar stores and PetHub products and merchandise. Twenty percent of Project Blue Collar online sales, 10 percent of all PetHub tag and collar online sales and 50 percent of all “Kiss Me I’m Rescued” shirts and tags will also go towards National Mill Dog Rescue.

The top 10 finalists will receive “Kiss Me I’m Rescued” shirts and tags, a $50 value while the grand prizewinner receives the same, along with a choice of one of two options.

The first option is a $100 PetHub.com coupon, additional Project Blue Collar swag (valued at $100) and the opportunity for their shelter or nominated rescue organization to receive a PetHub/Project Blue Collar-sponsored fundraiser. The second option is $2,000 in PetHub custom tags, their rescue story featured on PetHub/Project Blue Collar blogs, a social media spotlight, bulk Project Blue Collar collars for their organization and 25 dogs featured via social media to help boost their chance of being adopted.

“Pet rescue is of utmost importance to PetHub,” says Lorien Clemens, director of marketing at PetHub, Inc. “We try to convey that through our suite of products, which aim to get lost pets home as quickly as possible. But we realize there is so much more that can be done and we hope ‘Kiss Me I’m Rescued’ raises both donations and awareness for a cause that is close to our hearts.”

Round one voting to determine the top 10 finalists takes place from February 16 through 20. The top eight, plus two staff-chosen “wild cards,” will advance. Finalist voting then takes place from February 23 through 27.

Winners will be announced on or about March 2, 2015.
