Petco announced that Laura Wilkin has joined the national pet specialty retailer as executive vice president of supply chain and inventory. Wilkin will lead Petco’s ongoing supply chain transformation, responsible for all of the company’s inventory management operations, including logistics, planning and pricing.

“Laura is an accomplished leader with an extensive and impressive retail background, and we’re excited to welcome her to the team,” Petco CEO Brad Weston said. “We’re committed to staying competitive in a rapidly evolving retail landscape and finding new ways to meet the ever-changing needs of modern pet parents. Laura will lead efforts to add capabilities and capacity throughout our supply chain to ensure our customers can get what they want, whenever and wherever they want it.”

With more than 30 years of experience in retail supply chain operations and logistics, Wilkin comes to Petco from Walmart, where she served as senior vice president, logistics and replenishment.

“I’m thrilled to join the Petco team,” Wilkin said. “This is an exciting time of transformation throughout the retail industry and I’m thrilled to be part of a company that is uniquely positioned for success. Petco is focused on making strategic investments and continuous improvements throughout the business in order to provide only the best experiences for customers in a uniquely emotional category. I’m looking forward to working with this talented leadership team and our supply chain partners to help shape and drive ongoing growth for the company.”

Previously Wilkin led logistics organizations for other retail and apparel companies including Gap Inc., Levi Strauss, Sephora and Gymboree. Laura also provided consulting services to Fortune 500 companies as part of Accenture’s supply chain practice. She holds a bachelor’s degree in decision science from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.

Wilkin is based at the company’s National Support center in San Diego, California, and will report directly to Weston.
