Pet Valu’s Annual Fundraiser Breaks Donation Record

December 11, 2017

Pet Valu, a specialty retailer of premium pet foods and accessories, collected pet food and supplies for local homeless animals as part of its annual “Thanks for Giving” collection drive this November, raising a total of $477,568 in donations—three times the amount that the campaign raised last year.

As a result of the month-long campaign, Pet Valu’s popular $5 Feed-a-Pet for a week promotion raised $344,608 in donations alone, helping to feed 68,921 pets. Pet Valu also accepted pet products and food supplies in-store, amounting to $132,960 in donations.

As each Pet Valu store partnered with a local shelter or rescue to be the recipient of their collection, all customer contributions stayed in their respective communities and directly supported local homeless animals.

“The record-breaking numbers from this year’s Thanks for Giving campaign are remarkable and a true testament to the dedication and generosity of the entire Pet Valu community,” said Joe Dent, chief store operations officer at Pet Valu. “By purchasing the $5 food packages that will feed a dog or cat for a week, as well as all the pet product donations, our community has brought joy and holiday spirit to animals that might not otherwise get that.”
