Packaged Facts has published the latest edition of its U.S. Pet Market Outlook Report for 2017-2018. In the report, the market research firm explores “growing competition in the online pet products and services industry’s channel; examines the impact ecommerce sales have on traditional brick-and-mortar pet businesses; and analyzes the macro trends in pet products and services that are driving consumers to look beyond PetSmart, Petco, Walmart, and other big-name pet product retailers in their quest to find the very best for their furry and feathered companions,” according to an announcement from the firm.

The report, which evaluates segments of the market including veterinary services, pet food, nonfood pet supplies and non-medial pet services (grooming, boarding, training and more), also makes predictions of market size and growth for each category and examines each channel within the pet product market. According to the study’s abstract, the Pet Owner Survey that is also included is supplemented by “an extensive analysis of Simmons’ National Consumer Study, which is based on approximately 25,000 adults respondents surveyed annually.”

In addition to the latest U.S. Pet Market Outlook Report, Packaged Facts has launched a free online pet product shopping presentation, titled “Packaged Facts Online Pet Product Shopping – Survey Highlights 2017.” According to the firm’s release, the presentation focuses on emerging trends in the online pet products market, “which pet owning consumer demographics are most likely to shop online, online purchase trends today versus past years, the frequency of online shopping for pet products and reasons for buying pet products online.
