P3 Pet Trade Show to Present Steve Dale with Industry Excellence Award

Steve Dale, award-winning certified animal behavior consultant, radio host, author and pet foundation founder, will be the first recipient of P3 Pet Trade Show’s Industry Excellence Award. Urban Expositions, owners of P3 Pet Trade Show, will present the award to Dale during its debut edition, held August 24 to 25, 2016, at Navy Pier in Chicago, Illinois.

“We’re thrilled to recognize Chicago’s own Steve Dale at P3,” said Stacey Barrett-Brooks, show director of P3 Pet Trade Show. “Steve Dale has a proven track record for industry excellence through the numerous achievements that he has accomplished over the past few decades. Not only has he contributed to various columns, authored two books, appeared on national radio and television, but he also had the ability to reach more pet owners over the past few decades than any other pet journalist in America.”

The official award presentation will be held during the P3 Show Social after the show closes for the day on Wednesday evening at Navy Pier’s Beer Garden.

From hosting his two nationally broadcasted radio shows within Black Dog Radio Productions, Steve Dale’s Pet World and The Pet Minute, to formerly hosting Animal Planet Radio, to being the youngest person inducted into the Dog Writer’s Hall of Fame, Steve Dale has done it all within the pet community. Steve is a special contributor at WGN Radio, Chicago, hosting a program called Steve Dale’s Pet World. He served as an author for the national newspaper columnist in the Chicago Tribune for 21 years. Dale has made numerous TV appearances, including The Oprah Winfrey Show, National Geographic Explorer, a wide variety of Animal Planet programs and Superstation WGN-TV morning news. He is currently a regular on nationally syndicated HouseSmarts TV. As an author, Dale has published two ebooks, “Good Dog!” and “Good Cat!” and serves as the co-editor of “Decoding Your Dog,” written by the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists. He is a contributor to the textbook, “The Cat: Clinical Medicine and Management, and has written forewords and introductions to many books. Steve has written for many pet publications and is a columnist at Veterinary Practice News and CATster. Steve has earned multiple awards for his work, including the AVMA Humane Award, and is recognized as the youngest person to be inducted into the Dog Writer’s Hall of Fame. Recently named to the board of directors for the American Association of Human-Animal Bond Veterinarians (AAH-ABV), Steve also serves on the Board of the Winn Feline Foundation and is a past Board Member and ambassador of the American Humane Association. He is a founder and past Board Member of the CATaylst Council. He is also a scientific advisor at Pet Partners and is on the Advisory Board of SPCA Puerto Vallarta.

The P3 Show Social and awards presentation is open to registered retailers, exhibitors and industry guests; attendees and exhibitors must wear their badge to gain entry to the party. The P3 Show Social is co-hosted by Urban Expositions, American Pet Professionals, and Women in the Pet Industry Network.

In addition to educational programming and networking events, P3 is focused on bringing the industry’s newest pet products from every sector of the industry to the region’s retailers. The show has already attracted the support of leading industry distributors like American Distribution and Manufacturing Company, Phillips Pet Food & Supply and General Pet Supply, as well as a growing roster of top brands and industry innovators. A key highlight area of the show will be a special Incubator Feature Area showcasing prototypes and product innovations from brand new companies (less than 2 years in business) and inventors. The Incubator Feature Area will serve as an interactive forum for new manufacturers and inventors to exchange ideas and receive feedback from attending retailers on their designs and in turn for retailers to get a sneak peek at the latest innovations and product designs.
