Central Aquatics’
Aqueon Brand Hits Stores
Central Aquatics (Franklin, Wis.) hopes to make a big splash
this month when it begins shipping Aqueon aquarium products
to retail pet stores across the country. The comprehensive aquatics
line, designed specifically for beginning and intermediate hobbyists
who shop in independent pet and pet superstores, includes fish
foods, water care products, four-stage power filtration systems,
tanks, kits, lighting and furniture.
“This is the first time beginner and intermediate fish
hobbyists can get all they need from one umbrella brand,”
said Scott Rabe, Aqueon brand manager. “Aqueon products
will make owning fish easier for both the consumer and retailer
by offering an all-encompassing brand with products for almost
every aquarium need.”
The line consists of more than two dozen new products developed
by experts from Central’s All-Glass, Energy Savers and
Kent divisions, according to Ken Goff, vice president of marketing
for Central Aquatics.
Goff, interviewed at Backer’s Pet Industry Christmas
Trade Show in October, said the familiar All-Glass name will
be phased out over the next two years. However, the Oceanic
and Kent Marine brand names will continue to appear on products
aimed at serious hobbyists and premium markets.
