Luxury Pet Pavilion Travels to Atlanta

The latest high-end pet fashions, accessories and furniture—from Swarovski crystal collars to pet armoires to monogrammed bathrobes for dogs—got the red carpet treatment at The Luxury Pet Pavilion’s Fall Show, held Aug. 2-3 at the AmericasMart in Atlanta.

Show highlights included an Eco Pet Pavilion, featuring the latest in eco-friendly pet products for home and travel; a Grooming Station, offering tips, demonstrations and product suggestions; and educational seminars on visual merchandising and Internet marketing trends.

Magnolia, a dachshund dressed by Emma Rose Designs (Tiverton, R.I.), was named best dressed dog by judges David Frei, co-host of the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show, and Megan Blake, host of “Animal Attractions TV.” Magnolia will be the official model and spokes-dog for The Luxury Pet Pavilion 2009 Spring Show.

Cat Livin (Valencia, Calif.) won the award for best booth design with a display that exemplified the simple, sophisticated design of its cat furniture.

The Doody Duffle by Sly Innovations L.L.C. (Dallas) was named best new product. The compact fabric holder for dog waste easily attaches to a leash.

In the “Take Me Home Atlanta” grooming competition, master groomers from across the Southeast gave makeovers to 10 shelter dogs from the Atlanta Humane Society. Cindy Beauman of Oxford, Ala., who groomed a chow mix, won first prize.

In addition, show organizers and participating exhibitors gave a cash donation to Angel on a Leash, a group that champions the use of therapy dogs in health care, educational and correctional situations.

he Luxury Pet Pavilion 2009 Spring Show will take place March 7-8 at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles. For more information, visit www.luxurypetpavilion.com. [October 2008 PET AGE]
