Women Prefer
Pets, Study Says
Nearly eight out of 10 women would rather have a pet than a
husband, according to a recent online poll released by DogCatRadio.com
(Los Angeles).
“Life’s too short to commit to someone you will
need to know over time,” said Nancy Keller, 29. “I’d
rather have a pet and simply date. Less stress on everyone
involved.”
“Having a relationship is no easy task,” said
Deborah Petersen, 45. “If you can find a guy who enjoys
pets as much as you do, then you’re off to a great start
with that relationship.”
“Happiness is being a pet parent, and many of our female
listeners have demonstrated that to be true,” said Adrian
Martinez, founder of DogCatRadio.com. “Not only are
they involved more with our pet events, but they also make
up 92 percent f our VIP club members. Maybe man’s best
friend is in reality woman’s best friend.”
In fact, 87 percent of DogCatRadio.com’s listeners
are women between the ages of 23 and 49.
The results are based on more than 103,000 votes cast over
seven days. [October 2006 PET AGE]
