Petland Honors Top Stores
Petland Inc. (Chillicothe, Ohio) honored dozens of its best
retail store operators during its annual trade show, held July
27 in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. Winners included:
- Stores of the year: Brad and Karin Logan of Las Vegas,
stores under 5,000 square feet; Thomas and Janice Roffman
of Iowa City, Iowa, stores over 5,000 square feet.
- International store of the year: Glenda Stride of Grand
Prairie, Alberta.
- Vanguard Awards for outstanding first-year operations: Jeff
Frankel and Ed Steiner (Cicero, N.Y.); Laurie Leigh (Regina,
Saskatchewan); Cindy and Todd Parks (Charlotte, N.C.); and
Peter Sher (Tucson, Ariz.).
- Nicholas Alexander Progress Awards: Brandon Bearden and
Phyllis Brooks (Missouri City, Texas); Jessica Hunte (Olathe,
Kan.); Mike Korek (Manchester, N.H.); and Monem Koshok (Fairfax,
Va.).
- Quest Awards for community service programs: Jerry and Brenda
Adams (Maryville, Tenn.); Cesar and Ingrid Cepeda (Brownsville
and McAllen, Texas); Ron Littlefield (Topsham, Maine); Michael
and Marion Oddo (Tinley Park, Ill.); Todd and Cindy Parks
(Charlotte, N.C.); and Bob and Carol Thorne (Novi, Mich.).
Brian Chan of Columbus, Ohio, was store manager of the year.
Rob Henson of Largo, Fla., was pet counselor of the year.
Linda Blackmon of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., was animal care
technician of the year.
Chuck and Lisa Corley (Duluth, Ga.) had the best fish department
for the second year in a row.
