PET AGE SourceBook Goes Online
PET AGE recently launched an Internet-based version of its popular
SourceBook, giving pet retailers and pet-services professionals
easy access to fresh information about manufacturers, distributors,
companion animal suppliers, manufacturers’ representatives,
service providers, grooming schools and trade associations that
serve the pet industry.
The online PET AGE SourceBook (www.petagesourcebook.com)
contains information on more than 6,000 pet industry suppliers
and organizations, organized according to easy-to-navigate
categories and subcategories. Users simply click on a heading
to get contact information about vendors and organizations
involved in that category. Along the way, they can click on
a company logo to go directly to that company’s Web
site, or click on easy links to request free information from
participating suppliers.
“Our aim is to provide quick, easy access and up-to-date
information for all pet industry professionals,” said
Karen Long MacLeod, associate publisher and editor in chief
of PET AGE, published by H.H. Backer Associates Inc. (Chicago).
“Print directories are time-consuming to produce and,
unfortunately, end up being outdated by the time they are
printed. Online directories, on the other hand, offer the
advantage of greater timeliness since vendors can update their
own information on a regular basis.”
PET AGE is partnering with MediaBrains (Naples, Fla.) to
produce its online SourceBook. “MediaBrains has produced
online directories for numerous high-profile clients, including
Crain’s Communications, so we have the utmost confidence
in their expertise and professionalism,” MacLeod added.
PET AGE previously published the SourceBook in its December
issue. Going forward, PET AGE will instead publish an illustrated
product guide in its December issue.
