Sustainability Is Theme for ‘Pondemonium’
The 10th annual Pondemonium, sponsored by Aquascape Inc. (St. Charles, Ill.) to promote the water garden industry, will emphasize the ecosystem pond philosophy.
The event, to be held July 16-19 in St. Charles, Ill., will bring together distributors, contractors and retailers.
“This year’s Pondemonium theme centers on sustainability and working with Mother Nature,” said Ed Beaulieu, chief sustainability officer for Aquascape Inc.
Events include a keynote address by Greg Wittstock, the founder and chief executive officer of Aquascape, plus workshops, hands-on training sessions and pond tours.
New this year is the Extreme Green Community Makeover, a neighborhood rehab project designed to build on the success of last year’s World’s Most Extreme Pond Build. “We want to provide a similar, intense hands-on training session for our customers so we’re rehabbing the landscapes of a local neighborhood,” Wittstock said.
The International Waterlily and Water Gardening Society will hold its 25th annual symposium simultaneously.
