SuperZoo University
The World Wide Pet Industry Association (Arcadia, Calif.) will
reach out to independent retailers by incorporating sessions
by NexPet Retailer Group (New York) into the SuperZoo University
program at SuperZoo, Sept. 20-22 at the Mandalay Bay Convention
Center in Las Vegas.
Through a seminar and a separate meeting, NexPet will cover
a variety of topics to help pet retailers increase business
productivity. NexPet also will enroll members in the West
for the first time.
“This is a great opportunity to present independent
retailers with the solutions they are looking for and provide
them with a sounding board as well as a community of other
retailers to support them,” said Doug Poindexter, executive
vice president for WWPIA.
In “Six Top Excuses Why Your Retail Pet Business Isn’t
More Profitable,” Barry Berman, president of NexPet,
will show how some of the industry’s most successful
retailers have turned business challenges into opportunities
to enhance their bottom line.
In the “Joining a Retailing Co-op in Today’s
Pet Industry” meeting, Berman will explain the benefits
of joining NexPet, the industry’s only large-scale co-op
of independent pet retailers. The co-op has more than 300
member stores in 38 states.
