Global Pets Forum Draws People from 29 Countries
Two hundred pet industry executives from 29 countries attended Global Pets Forum, held Jan. 22-23 at the Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky in the heart of Amsterdam, Netherlands, for several lectures based on “Your New Global Markets.”
It marked the 10th anniversary for the event, and the 20th anniversary for the event sponsor, Pets International Magazine (Amersfoort, Netherlands).
Last year, the event drew 217 attendees from 28 countries.
Tetra Europe (Melle, Germany) was unanimously voted the winner of the 2009 Global Pet Award. Judges, led by FACTA International Business Solutions founder Rob Vigoureux, chose Tetra Europe based on its international business achievements, including a presence in upcoming markets, as well as innovation, willingness to capitalize on cultural differences and share knowledge with local partners, and ability to differentiate itself.
Conference sessions highlighted entrepreneurship in the new economic world order; geopolitical shifts among pet industry leaders; demographic trends, including aging and urbanization; and innovations, such as the effect of nanotechnology on pet products.
