Petfood Forum Taps Noted Author as Keynote Speaker
Best-selling author and nationally renowned veterinarian Dr. Marty Becker will headline the 2009 Petfood Forum, focusing on ways in which the pet food industry can tap into the relationship between pets and their owners.
The Petfood Forum, organized by Petfood Industry Magazine (Des Plaines, Ill.), will be held April 20-22 in Rosemont, Ill.
Becker, known best for his book The Bond, also co-authored Chicken Soup for the Pet-Lover’s Soul and writes the nationally syndicated blog Pet Connection. A practicing veterinarian in Idaho, he also is a regular contributor to Animal Planet, ABC’s “Good Morning America” and hosts PBS’s “The Pet Doctor with Marty Becker.”
“Once people realize that these four-legged family members are actually life-support systems for their families or themselves, the amount of money they’ll invest in feeding, grooming, veterinary care and pampering will rise astronomically,” Becker said.
He’ll also discuss ways retailers can help pet owners make the most nutritional choices when selecting pet foods.
