Pet Care Services Association Honors Top Members
The Pet Care Services Association (Colorado Springs, Colo.) gave its highest honor, the Golden Scoop, to Gretchen Meienburg, owner of Pampered Pets Bed & Biscuit (Napoleon, Ohio).
Meienburg was honored at PCSA’s annual convention, held in Pittsburgh, Pa., for her role in crafting the organization’s new standards and practices, chairing the ethics committee and improving the image of pet care professionals.
PCSA, formerly the American Boarding Kennels Association, also honored Brian Linning, owner of Bark ’N’ Town (Ingleside, Ill), with PCSA’s International Award of Excellence for his contributions to the ethics committee and his willingness to share his information technology expertise.
Terrell Jones, owner of The Claridge Spa & Pet Resort (Cordova, Tenn.), and Elizabeth Jones, owner of All ’Bout Cats & Dogs Pet Resort (Ocala, Fla.), received PCSA International Awards of Appreciation for their work on association committees. Both currently serve on the PCSA board of directors.
Linda Lowney, co-owner of Town & Country Kennels Inc. (Langhorne, Pa.), received the PCSA Community Services Award for her work on Pennsylvania’s newly adopted pet-care legislation.
Nancy Webb of Wells Fargo & Co. (San Francisco) won the Herschel Talley Award for her willingness to speak at association events and share her experience and expertise. The award is named for Herschel Talley, a former PCSA associate member, who was instrumental in helping increase awareness of the association.
Charlotte Biggs, owner of Stay-N-Play Pet Ranch Inc. (Dripping Springs, Texas) and president of the board of directors, won the PCSA Leadership Award for providing leadership, support and direction to association staff members.
