Complete Care Made Easy—Kittens: A Guide to Caring for Your Kitten by Sandy Meyer (BowTie Press, Irvine, Calif.) was best health and general care book. The Cat Behavior Answer Book by Arden Moore (Storey Publishing, North Adams, Mass.) was best training and behavior book.

Cat Fancy, published by Fancy Publications Inc. (Los Angeles), was best monthly magazine.

“Concerning Animals” by Joan Lowell Smith (The Star-Ledger, Newark, N.J.) was best newspaper column.

Catnip, edited by Arden Moore and published by Tufts Media (Somerville, Mass.), was best national newsletter.

Felinexpress.com, edited by Mary Anne Miller, was best online magazine.

“The Pet Minute” by Steve Dale (Black Dog Radio Productions) was best audio presentation.

Arden Moore won the Friskies Writer of the Year Award for the Catnip newsletter and The Cat Behavior Answer Book; and the Tidy Cats Feline Behavior Award for The Cat Behavior Answer Book.

Dusty Rainbolt won the Iams Responsible Cat Ownership Award for “Dear Hobbes: College Kids,” published in City and Country Pets; the Petmate Safe Cat Award for Dear Hobbes: HoHoHolly,” published in City and Country Pets; and the Purina Kitten Chow Kitten Award for “Orphan Basics,” published in Cat Fancy.

Sandra Toney won the Purina Cat Chow Nutrition Award for “Finicky and Fussy About Feline Food,” published in I Love Cats magazine (South Plainfield, N.J.).

Arnold Plotnick won the Purina One Health Award for “Spotlight on Bartonella,” published in Catnip.

Amy Shojai won the Sticky Paws Training Award for “Cat Meets Dog: Bringing Home Magic,” published in the Animal Behavior Consulting: Theory and Practice Journal published by the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (Levittown, Pa.).

Betsy Stowe won the World’s Best Cat Litter-ary Award for “Retirement Home Cat,” published in the CFA Fanc-e-Mews newsletter. [February 2008 PET AGE]
