Dog Groomers
and Trainers Form First PAC
Dog groomers and dog trainers now have their own political action
committee to represent their legislative interests.
The nascent Canine Political Action Corps. Inc. will track
licensing and other legislation that could interfere with
how groomers and trainers conduct business, remain profitable
and compete in the marketplace, said executive director Jay
Stull. “Our sole mission is to monitor government activity
relating to the professions of dog training and dog grooming
in order to influence any legislation as early in the process
as possible, defeat harmful legislation and encourage legislation
beneficial to the professions.”
Over the past two years, at least five states have introduced
legislation intended to license and regulate groomers or trainers,
according to CPAC.
