Dozens Honored at National Central Pet Meeting
More than 200 Central Pet representatives and select vendors
attended the Celebration of Leadership national sales meeting,
held Nov. 9-12 at Miami’s Parrot Jungle Island and hosted
by Central Pet Distribution, a subsidiary of Central Garden
& Pet Co. (Walnut Creek, Calif.). The event marked the first
meeting of the company’s entire distribution team.
Small teams of Central Pet representatives visited 35 vendors
in 25-minute shifts each day, and attended social events each
evening.
In addition, the company presented more than 50 awards to
employees and vendor partners during the banquet on the last
night of the meeting.
Joe Felish, territory manager for Central Pet’s Santa
Fe Springs branch, won the Robert David Voyles National Territory
Manager of the Year Award. Diane Chapter, territory manager
for the Tampa branch, won the National Retail Solutions Top
Gun Award.
Central Pet also recognized several manufacturers:
- Natural Balance Pet Foods Inc. (Pacoima, Calif.) and Rolf
C. Hagen (USA) Corp. (Mansfield, Mass.), Vendor Partner of
the Year Awards for best integrated relationships benefiting
all partners.
- United Pet Group (Cincinnati, Ohio), Vendor Retailer Support
Award for best sponsorship of Central’s retail solutions.
- Doskocil Manufacturing/Petmate Pet Products (Arlington,
Texas), Vendor Supply Chain Award for best overall vendor
support.
- Energy Savers Unlimited Inc. (Carson, Calif.), Vendor New
Product Award for best new or improved product launch.
- Super Pet (Elk Grove Village, Ill.), Vendor Packaging Award
for best packaging, display and point-of-sale support.
Central Pet Distribution’s 2006 national sales meeting
